'Style Crush': Lupita Nyong'o

Hey lovelies!

I know it's been a while but I went on a little vacation to London (for those of you who don't know I currently live/work/study in France) and so I didn't get to post as I would've liked.

Good news: I have a couple posts coming up about some items I got in London and a couple other things as well, so stay tuned for that! :)

Now,

I must admit that I've been a bit out of the loop when it comes to keeping an eye on celebrities and their style.

It's fair to say that I did know who Lupita Nyong'o was after seeing the trailer for "12 years a slave" but that was it. I knew her name and I knew she was an actress and that was that. I never kept up with the premiers and who wore what and all those lovely shenanigans as I've been superrrr busy lately.

But of course this all changed when pictures like these started to surface:

I mean how could one NOT take notice? (To be honest, I did stumble across these while procrastinating with school work but let's not get into that. My delinquency as a student is irrelevant when it comes to Lupita and her beautiful style sense!!!)

Obviously now, I'm gonna make the biggest effort to not miss a beat when it comes to seeing what she wears next on the red carpet.

She looks amazing ALL.THE.TIME.

I know, I know, I'm sounding a bit extra and like I'm fan-girling right?

Just leave me be. Just let me take in the Kenyan/Mexican goddess that is Lupita Nyong'o.

Here she is at the Hollywood Film awards in a lovely J.Mendel gown.

In addition to the gorgeous gowns, another thing that has me "oohing" and "aahing" is how simple, clean and classic her makeup looks are. She always glows but it's never overdone. Her makeup is done in such a way that it never takes away from the prime focus that is those incredible gowns that she is so lucky to wear!

I've noticed that her makeup artists (one of which is Nick Barose who has worked with the likes of Gabrielle Union and Blake Lively) often interchange between a dramatic eye and simple lip or a dramatic lip and simple eye, and it looks amazing every time without ever being too much.

I would have to say that the light blue Prada gown that she wore to the Oscars is indeed my favorite in terms of gowns and her makeup was perfectly suitable for it. With glowing skin, a really minimal smokey eye and peachy-pink hues to her cheeks and lips, she was a vision.

However, her more simple, less extravagant dresses/outfits seem to leave the same lasting impression on me.

These green shades look great on her.

Ok so that'll be all the obsessing for today over Lupita's looks. I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did.

Let me know in the comments below if you like this series called 'Style Crush'.

(I'm not gonna post this series specifically on a Monday or very often. It may be more sporadic as I never really obsess over a celebrity's wardrobe like this! Lol)

Also, let me know who's your style crush!

Big Love,

Julia xx
